With a strong foundation in building systems engineering technology and construction electricity, Matt has developed a comprehensive expertise in both the technical and practical aspects of building construction. After earning his credentials , he took over the family construction business in 1998, where he has since served as a general contractor for over 25 years now. Throughout his career, Matt has successfully managed and completed more than 1,200 projects, ranging from residential home renovations to large-scale commercial developments. His hands-on experience has given him an exceptional understanding of building codes, systems design, and construction processes, allowing him to assess structures from both a technical and safety-oriented perspective.

 

In addition to his extensive construction experience, Matt is also a dedicated Volunteer First Responder and the Director of his Fire Department. His involvement in emergency services has provided him with a unique insight into the specific needs of fire stations and public safety facilities. This experience, combined with his extensive construction background, allows him to approach building inspections and renovations with a rare understanding of both code compliance and operational functionality.

 

As a building inspector, Matt applies his expertise not only to ensure that structures and other building elements meet regulatory standards but also to ensure they are safe, efficient, and tailored to the needs of those who will use them. Matt has a true passion for mechanics and loves spending his free time in his garage, working on a variety of vehicles. Whether it's cars, trucks, motorcycles, quads, or tractors, he enjoys the hands-on challenge of fixing, restoring, and customizing them. His garage is his creative space where he can dive into every mechanical detail, always eager to learn and tinker with new projects.
